About Mormon Basics

My philosophy is that The Plan of Salvation is a great message (maybe the greatest), but sharing it door-to-door (as Mormon missionaries do) shouldn’t be the only way. The internet allows the message to reach vast areas while being entirely unobtrusive.

If this message has peaked your interest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I suggest having some missionaries in your neck of the woods pay you a visit. You can find Mormon Missionaries here.

“The Huge Discussion”

I’m a visual guy. I created several visual aids to facilitate teaching the Mormon basics to those interested.

But I couldn’t help but notice how all of the teachings were visually related. I had a theory that a visual-aid-to-end-all-visual-aids was possible, and immediately began the blueprints inside my head.

On one particular “Preparation Day” (our only day-off from proselyting), I laid in my bed staring at the ceiling for 6 straight hours and put the finishing touches to my thoughts. For the next few weeks, I gathered the supplies (posterboard, markers, scissors, glue, etc.) and began the physical creation. Once finished, my comp. nicknamed it “A Palestrao” — The Huge Discussion.

It helped immensely for the remaining year of my mission. I used it at least four or five times per day.

The Plan of Salvation Animation

Once home, I thought I’d learn flash and animate it. That proved daunting, so I had a design company Spin Media Marketing do the leg work. They were great to work with, and within 5 months we had a first draft.
